Mortal Kombat 11's stages explored by PC modder show an audience with no legs, bloody science experiments, and more

With Mortal Kombat being in the hands of the public for a few weeks, fans everywhere continue to breakdown the game to better understand what makes it tick. We're seeing competitive players establishing the meta and early tier lists emerge, as well as lab monsters finding the latest and greatest tech.

In addition to those aspects, though, are the PC modders who aim to explore the game from a more technical standpoint. One such modder named DennisNetwork is building a camera mod for Mortal Kombat 11 that allows people to explore beyond the boundaries of what we see in stages, and early videos of this are pretty revealing.

This free-roaming camera mod grants us a look at the various elements of a handful of stages, getting up close and personal with the different things that line the background.

You've probably noticed that at the bottom of the screen in the Tournament stage are the pumping fists of an excited eSports crowd. What you likely didn't know, though, is that none of these audience members actually have legs, and it looks as though the same four character models are used repeatedly to flesh out the group.

Moving to a stage like Cyber Lin Kuei Assembly, DennisNetwork provides a literal look behind the curtain at the strange science experiments taking place behind all of the action. A closer glimpse reveals mutilated cadavers being sliced in half with a large buzz saw, blood raining down from the used blades, and even a disposal shaft on the floor where the bodies are dumped after the procedure is complete.

In the Black Dragon Fight Club, we get to see more of what Kano's crew looks like, and the PC modder looks to see if the guy using the urinal actually has his... well, you know, out — he doesn't. I imagine the same goes for Kano during the win animation where he urinates on the floor with his back turned to the camera, though I couldn't say for certain.

The mod doesn't seem to be available for the public just yet, but it will be interesting to see even more of Mortal Kombat 11's stages in this way in the future.
