SNK announced yesterday, March 30, that the brand new lady pirate Darli Dagger will be part of Samurai Shodown's launch roster when it releases in June this year, but they had another reveal pertaining to the older titles in the series.

At their PAX East panel, the longtime fighting game and arcade developer unveiled that the Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection will be coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC via Steam featuring six of the original titles to get you caught up to speed or let you relive the classics.

Developed in partnership with Digital Eclipse, the same studio that handled the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, this new compilation includes over a decade's worth of games with the first Samurai Shodown, Samurai Shodown 2, Samurai Shodown 3: Blades of Blood, Samurai Shodown 4: Amakusa's Revenge, Samurai Shodown 5 and Samurai Shodown 5 Special.

Every title will feature both online and offline game modes along with the ability to change between the English and Japanese versions from Samurai Shodown to Samurai Spirits.

An in-depth museum mode will also be included with the collection which allows players to view artwork, sprites and biographies for every fighter that has made it into the series and supposedly some that never did.

Those who were hoping to try out the collection before the new Samurai Shodown launches this Summer will unfortunately need to wait considering the Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection is currently slated for a Fall 2019 release window.
