Leffen reveals his Pokémon Trainer and Roy match up charts for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

TSM|Leffen is widely known for his prowess in Super Smash Bros. Melee as the most recent EVO champion in the title, but he has also been hard at work building himself up in Smash Ultimate since it launched trying to learn and improve people's knowledge of characters and mechanics.

The Fox Melee main began his time in Ultimate playing Pokémon Trainer before finding himself in a character crisis until he finally settled on Roy. After reaching a sub goal on Twitch, Leffen released his personal match up charts for both of his characters where he obviously feels that one is better than the other.

Pokémon Trainer has the unique strength of being able to switch freely between Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard to cover most of their matches, but that still isn't enough to help them against fighters who are often seen as the best characters in the game according to Leffen.

The top Melee player feels that the trio of Pokémon does very poorly against Pichu, who most would agree is the strongest in Ultimate right now, along with Peach, Wario, Fox, Olimar and others as 4-6 losing matches. On the other hand, Leffen placed the troupe ahead of some strong competition like Snake, Chrom and Cloud.

As for Roy, he actually does well against the likes of Pichu, Peach and Pikachu in the eyes of Leffen though he still struggles against the similar fighter in Lucina and Fox.

Unsurprisingly, these lists, Pokémon Trainer's, read out similarly to tier lists since the top tiers are going to have fewer bad match ups, so we can also gauge how a player generally views characters in them. You can take a look at both of Leffen's match up charts in the gallery below.
