Ed Boon is asking which game you would hypothetically want to see most: Marvel vs. DC, Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter, or a Horror movie fighter
The poll is just for fun, so don't get too excited
Mortal Kombat Co-Creator Ed Boon has an interesting poll running on Twitter right now. The question is: which game would you want to see most from NetherRealm Studios?
It needs to be said upfront that this poll is being ran for fun, so don't go telling your friends that a Street Fighter crossover is finally coming.
"What fighting game would you want to see most?" Boon wrote on Twitter. "This question is JUST FOR FUN. No current plans for any of these."
Having said that, the poll offers three choices for fans to vote on: a Horror movie fighting game, Marvel vs. DC, or Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter.
While all three of these hypothetical titles would be amazing to see, the obstacles created by landing the rights and proper licensing would likely be insurmountable. Still, my vote definitely goes to a fighting game featuring classic Horror movie icons — especially considering how well A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger, Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface transferred over into the world of Mortal Kombat.
Boon flat out said that the poll is for fun, but a microscopic part of me can't help but find it interesting that Boon is gauging interest with NetherRealm's latest major fighting title, Mortal Kombat 11, a little under two months away from its official launch. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking, though.
The poll is still live for another couple of hours (at the time of writing this), so be sure to let us know what game you picked in the comments below!
