Prominent fighting game community streamer Twitch account hacked, bank accounts threatened

A rough start to 2019

If you're an EventHubs regular, there's an exceedingly good chance you've seen us share Vesper Arcade's video content here on the site. We regret to share the news that regular FGC streamer and content creator's Twitch account has been hacked.

This actually occurred while Vesper was in the middle of a live streaming session on Sunday evening. "My account was taken over, and because of that bad things happened," he notes in his video update on the matter.

This led to Vesper contacting Twitch and having his account shut down for investigation. He also states that the individual that took over his Twitch page also threatened to invade bank accounts and credit cards, and so he's taken the necessary precautions to protect such assets and reports that no harm has come to them.

This all comes a little over a week before Final Round, the first event on the 2019 Capcom Pro Tour. We're expecting a very exciting competitive kick off to this year's Tour as well as more information about what Capcom has in store for Street Fighter 5 in the coming months.

Hopefully all the damage here will be remedied in time for Vesper to be able to fully cover this upcoming content as he's become a regular source of analysis and news recap for the FGC.

If you'd like to help Vesper in the meantime, you can donate to his Patreon page and perhaps make this turbulent time a bit smoother. You can see the full video update where Vesper himself explains the situation below.
