Mortal Kombat 11's Tournament stage now features CEO 2019 in anticipation of the big event this weekend

Mortal Kombat 11 has a stage dedicated to the heart of the competition. The game's Tournament backdrop is an ode to the competitive scene featuring old arcade cabinets, a big stage for fighters to do battle upon, giant screens showing the action, and more.

As major events take place in the fighting game community, NetherRealm Studios updates this stage to promote the tournament with logos and colors meant to match. Now fans can play on the CEO 2019-themed version of Mortal Kombat 11's Tournament stage ahead of the big show this weekend.

"Started from the bottom now you can play here," CEO tournament organizer Alex Jebailey wrote on Twitter about the stage. "Seriously as a MK fan since the very first one to see @CEOGaming featured as a state is one of the greatest feelings ever. Thank you to everyone involved!"

NRS continues to embrace the FGC by incorporating references into in-game content.

The first tournament we saw featured on the aforementioned stage was Combo Breaker 2019 back in May. MK11 went a step further with a special Combo Breaker tower that comes complete with Rick "The Hadou" Thiher's Noob Saibot as the sole opponent you must face. The Hadou is the tournament organizer for Combo Breaker and this tower is currently live (at the time of writing this).

CEO 2019 is taking place in Daytona Beach, Florida, from June 28 through 30. Be sure to tune in here at EventHubs as we'll have coverage for the event as it happens.
