Update: Ed Boon has now revealed the small clip of Nightwolf as well which you can check out as well with the previously posted ones for Spawn, Shang Tsung and Sindel to get your first peek into how the upcoming fighters will likely look in the title.

Given the fact that he's a character completely enveloped in a hell-themed atmosphere, Mortal Kombat fans have long awaited the day that Todd McFarlane's Spawn would guest star in one the franchise's entries. That's finally going to come to fruition here in Mortal Kombat 11.

We only recently received word that Spawn is en route via the DLC Kombat Pack, and we've seen nothing more than his name pop up during Shang Tsung's reveal trailer. That said, the official Mortal Kombat Twitter shared some character art today that gives us our first idea of the character's MK11 appearance.

The image isn't much, (essentially a quick sketch that we see briefly animated with glowing green eyes as trademark white face paint manifests) but does give us a glimpse at concept art where we had absolutely nothing before.

This follows one other similar post as the MK Twitter account shared the equivalent for Shang Tsung just a few days back. Shang's visual certainly represents his appearance in the eleventh franchise installment as he, for the first time in games, is based directly on Mortal Kombat film actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.

At this point we do not know when Spawn will actually be arriving on the MK11 roster, but his was the third in a string of five character names listed for the game's first Kombat Pack.

You can see both quick clips by clicking the thumbnails here. We expect more of these, featuring Sindel, Nightwolf, and perhaps the two additional guest fighters, may pop up in the not so distant future:
