Metal Revolution appears to be setting itself up to pick up where Rising Thunder left off in terms of its visuals and design philosophy built around getting players into the mind games of fighting games without worrying as much about taxing execution.

The publishing team over at NEXT Studios has released a shiny brand new trailer for the upcoming fighter showing off more polished gameplay, visual effects and sound design in this cyberpunk world.

There doesn't look to be any new characters in the trailer, but it does appear to be showcasing how Metal Revolution will look, sound and play in its final release coming to Steam sometime in 2019 compared to previous beta footage.

For game mechanics, Metal Revolution features buttons for normals, specials, jumping and dodging which appear simple on the surface, but parry mechanics and advanced combo extensions elevate the action as the video shows.

Though it features an entirely robotic cast of characters, each character has a distinct design aesthetic to make them unique from a hulking metal footballer to a gun wielding nun and even a chameleon.

The game is scheduled to launch with ranked and casual online matches, lobbies, arcade mode, local battles and training with a story and other features coming in later updates. More skins and stages are also planned with an in-game currency that can be used to purchase characters and costumes.

Metal Revolution has an official Steam listing now with a second beta coming in the near future. A PlayStation 4 and iOS version was previously announced to be in the works as well.
