E. Honda, Poison and Lucia officially revealed for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition ahead of EVO 2019

Updated: After E. Honda, Poison and Lucia were leaked in advance of their announcement at EVO 2019, Capcom put out an official tweet and video confirming these characters were coming to the game on August 4, 2019.

Each character will be offered individually on the 4th, and then a Summer 2019 Character Bundle will be available on August 5, 2019, which includes all three new combatants, along with their battle costumes and default colors 3-10.

Previously, the trailer leaked Wednesday afternoon on Steam (it has since been removed). It first showed a Street Fighter 2 character select screen with Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Zangief, Dhalsim, Guile, Blanka, and E. Honda.

All of these characters are present in Street Fighter 5, except for E. Honda. That changes with this trailer as Honda has been revealed for the SF5 roster along with Final Fight's Poison and Lucia. These additions will bring the roster total up from 35 to 38 total characters.

This is the first official reveal for new Street Fighter 5 content (outside of new costumes for existing characters) since December of 2018, thus marking the end of what has become a particularly infamous period of radio silence.

Each of these fighters have additional costumes in their respective wardrobes. Honda has a total skin count of four, Lucia has a total of five, and Poison also has a total of five. On top of all this, Honda's classic bathhouse Sento stage is to be added as well.

As expected, the ab-ridden sumo wrestler once again has access to his Hundred Hand Slaps, his Sumo Headbutt, and command throws. Combos appear to come nicely as he has normals that will knock opponents off their feet.

It looks as though E. Honda only has access to his command throws during V-Trigger 2. He can even cancel his Hundred Hand Slaps into a command throw on hit. V-Trigger 1 gives E. Honda access to a chargeable headbutt attack that can break guards. This will leave opponents wide open for free damage if they attempt to block.

Lucia Morgan hails from Final Fight 3 and appears to be an officer of the law in Metro City. Her attacks utilize a lot of fire and she appears to have a lot of combo potential especially in the target combo department.

We see her perform what looks like the EX version of a run technique to extend one of her sequences, and bash foes with her police baton on the regular.

Poison's new fighting style has her using a whip. This gives her more reach than before. She can even apparently attach her whip to the screen's ceiling and swing similar to how Spider-Man does with his web.

All three of these fighters will be available on August 4 with their release presumably coinciding with an EVO Sunday finals reveal. This is, unfortunately, not unlike the accidental Kage leak that occurred during the latter portion of Capcom Cup 2018.

We do not yet know about pricing for any of this content yet.

There has been a lot riding on this reveal as fan expectations for new content have been steadily growing for the last eight months. Three characters at once is more than we've ever gotten in Street Fighter 5, but whether or not this will be enough to sate the community remains to be seen.

Many have expressed hope for a new balance patch, game mechanics, and even as much as a full "Super" SF5 update similar to what we saw with Arcade Edition in 2018.

We don't know if the leak here details the entirety of what Capcom is planning to show at EVO this coming weekend, so there's still a chance that there's more to come.

Do you think this will be the entire SF5 EVO announcement? Will this be enough to keep fans happy? Chime in to the comments with your reactions, thoughts, and opinions about these three.
