'Why am I nervous that whatever Capcom shows for Street Fighter 5 is just gonna piss people off?' - Maximilian's predictions for big reveals at EVO

Tifa for Tekken, anyone?

If it ever wasn't before, EVO has surely become an event known not only for the highest levels of fighting game competition but also as a juncture where at the community can expect big reveals for their favorite fighting titles.

The nine titles that make up this year's lineup enter EVO in widely different positions when it comes to community expectations for new content, and Maximilian recently spoke both on what he hopes will be announced as well as what he thinks is most likely to be announced in a recent video.

Most titles are likely to produce something to keep fans' eyes on the horizon, but we'll just come right out and say that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (the event headliner) is the anomaly here.

With Tuesday's release of The Hero it seems Nintendo is simply opting to run on their own schedule, not to many peoples' surprise.

We also know that Mortal Kombat 11 will be getting Nightwolf in mid-August, but perhaps NetherRealm Studios may use the big stage to show off Sindel, Spawn, or one of the two unrevealed members of the game's first Kombat Pack.

While he's surely keeping his hopes in check, Max feels that Tekken 7's expansion to all-new guest character depths with last year's Negan reveal is something they should continue this year. The realm of possibility has become massive for T7, but Max feels that Final Fantasy's Tifa Lockhart would likely make the most noise.

Capcom seems to have the most pressure headed into EVO this year as Street Fighter fans have been left in the dark since December of 2018. Max admits that it's going to take a whole lot to win back the community's faith, and while taking a chance going with big gameplay changes could potentially do the trick, he's not too sure that's what will happen.

Give the video a watch and let us know if you agree with the prominent streamer's predictions and hopes. If not, feel free to expand on what you think we'll see and why in the comments.
