Dragon Quest's Hero launches later today, July 30, in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate alongside new Mii Fighter costumes and stage

The wait for Dragon Quest Hero's launch in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is going to be even shorter than we thought given that he'll be coming out later today.

During the new fighter's breakdown, Smash creator and director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that Challenger Pack 2: Hero will be available to download July 30 instead of the previously reported July 31.

No official timing was set for Hero's launch though the Nintendo eShop normally updates around 9 a.m. PDT, so hopefully we'll see them later this morning sans some server issues like Persona 5's Joker faced during his launch.

Hero's launch will also coincide with more Mii Fighter costumes centered around Dragon Quest characters and monsters of the past including Veronica, Erdrick, male and female martial artists, and of course a slime hat.

Of course, Hero will be accompanied by Smash Ultimate's Version 4.0.0 update which will see new character balance changes along with some new features like online tournaments and the ability to place bets on spectated matches to earn some Spirits or other goodies.

Hero will be available immediately for Fighters Pass holders once the update goes live and individually for $5.99 USD while each Mii Fighter costume will be $0.75 each.
