iDom streamed for over five hours trying to get a 100 win streak online; the final two rounds will give you a heart attack

'Win this battle and you'll have a... 100 game win streak in ranked match'

Street Fighter 5 fans have known that Derrek "iDom" Ruffin and his Laura as unignorable threats for quite some time, but the pair have been making even more waves in recent months thanks to a top eight placing at Combo Breaker 2019, a win at Defend the North, and some stellar displays of skill on Street Fighter League.

He also recently went on a 99 game win streak in the incredibly unforgiving realm of online Street Fighter 5 play and we have footage of how the hundredth game concluded thanks to HiFight.

Since her nerfs in Season 3, Laura has plummeted down the SF5 tier lists (as far as community perception, at least). She clearly has good robbery potential with her V-Trigger 1 and so she is capable of stealing rounds away with 50/50 situations, but "consistent" isn't a word often used to describe her.

The character is seldom seen these days, but just watching one V-Trigger sequence from iDom immediately shows how he has separated himself from the rest of the pack. Where others might set up a 50/50, iDom appears to have set ups that feel all but inescapable.

Returning to the streak narrative, the final opponent between him and a chain of 100 wins wound up being a Super Diamond ranked Akuma player. Our clip drops us into the second round of the match with our hero already having taken the first one with a perfect... then the choking starts.

We won't spoil too much here, but we will say that iDom does not have his best game ever. Though you wouldn't guess he was at all nervous by his commentary, a few crucial drops and mistakes make for an emotional roller coaster ride of a watch.

Hold your breath and check out the full sequence in the clip below. You can check out iDom's Twitch stream as he regularly shows his training and grind sessions to a live audience.
