Filipino Champ shows off devkit version of Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, says 61 characters and 18 stages were originally planned

Says he was actually fined for releasing too much info in the past

It's been a good while since we heard much from either Ryan "Filipino Champ" Ramirez or Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, but we're excited to share that the Marvel god recently streamed a version of MvCI we haven't seen before: the game's software development kit.

The software development kit (devkit) enables an insider's view of a lot of the game's background information. Champ is able to turn on hitboxes in training mode, and access files that he claims reveal placeholder positions for additional characters and stages that never came to fruition.

We really don't know the particulars or the extent of Champ's connections with Infinite's developers, but he was apparently close enough to have some form of a non-disclosure agreement.

While the game loads, he explains that he actually got in trouble and received a hefty fine from powers that be for stating too much on social media a little while back, and stopped posting much at all on Twitter for a good six months after that.

Whatever kind of NDA was in effect is apparently over with, because Champ switches over to the devkit version of MvCI about two and half hours into his stream and blatantly shows the goods.

We've nabbed a clip wherein he brings up some background files and explains that there were plans to have a total of 61 characters and 18 stages when everything was said and done. He also touches on the future of the franchise and a bit more in the last hour of the stream.
