It's been a few months since we've seen any new character announcements for Arc System Works' newest fighting game in Granblue Fantasy Versus though the curtain has finally been pulled back to show off what is sure to be a popular fighter.

Cygames revealed today that Percival, known as the Lord of Flame, will be among the playable roster for the Granblue fighter via a brand new trailer blazing a trail to victory through chivalry and noble deeds — and cool fire attacks.

As his title suggests, Percival can imbue his sword in fire for a variety of attacks including surrounding himself in a circle of flame, a fiery uppercut and what appears to be a grounded fireball with a super that can create a tornado set ablaze.

He looks like a hard hitter with great range due to his height and the length of his sword though Percival's combos also show him getting up close and personal with his opponents.

While his intro music may sound a bit ominous, Percival is actually one of the good guys in Granblue Fantasy's lore having trained alongside Lancelot and is always looking to help people in need and striving for peace — through beating the crap out of his enemies.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is currently scheduled for a worldwide release in 2019 for PlayStation 4. Even more news for the upcoming title is likely coming one week from now at Granblue Extra Fes 2019 where we may finally learn about the game's release date.

Percival Overview

He travels to lands far and wide to learn the secrets of statecraft, all in hopes of founding his dream country. Before he set out on a journey to achieve such lofty goals, he and Lancelot served as officers in the same order of knights, studying under the same master.

He received his nickname, the Lord of Flames, from the noble way he wields his blazing long sword. Those who come face-to-face with him find themselves either entranced or terrified by his abilities.
