Masahiro Sakurai notes that MP costs for Dragon Quest Hero's attacks have been adjusted since the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate E3 trailer

We're still all eagerly awaiting exact details about the Dragon Quest Hero's release date in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that goes beyond "Summer 2019." In the meantime, Masahiro Sakurai (as translated by PushDustIn) has provided some information in his most recent Famitsu Column regarding this upcoming fighter.

Keen-eyed fans have probably already taken note of the MP (mana point) system present in the Hero's moveset. Don't bother memorizing specific values from the E3 trailer though.

According to Masahiro Sakurai, the amount of MP the Hero uses for attacks have changed since the big reveal.

Rumor has it that the Hero will have access to 16 unique special moves. By holding the "B" button when pressed in combination with the corresponding direction, a menu of four options appears to come up.

In the E3 trailer, Sizzle costed 20 MP, Psyche Up used 17 MP, Oomph spent 18 MP, and Snooze required 16 MP. Since then, the Hero has apparently undergone balance adjustments that have altered these minimum mana requirements in unknown ways.

As for Bounce, Kacrackle Slash, Kaclang, Zoom, and Kamikazee, the interface was made hidden while these attacks were shown in the trailer. Because of this, we haven't a clue about the payment associated with these techniques.

Based on Sakurai's ending remark, it sounds as though the Hero is in the balancing phase right now. The good news here is that this might be the final segment of the character design process for this particular brawler.

Here's hoping that the Hero will be releasing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate soon. EVO 2019 is rapidly approaching, so maybe we'll receive word about the release date during the game's finals day.
