SonicBoom 2019's biggest fighting game this weekend was actually Dragon Ball FighterZ. In total, there were around 140 signed up to compete.

For a player to make top 32, they'd have to win roughly two or three matches. Let's take a glimpse at the meta of Dragon Ball FighterZ by looking at which characters were the most prominent in the top 32 of Sonic Boom 2019.

Super Saiyan Goku was overwhelming at this event. More than half the users pulled out the protagonist during their matches. 17 players fought with Goku on their side.

Bardock ended up being the second most popular combatant. At 11 users, the number of Bardock competitors occupied a little over one-third of those found in the top 32.

Kid Buu, Adult Gohan, and the newly released Kid Goku were also used very often. These fighters had eight players apiece.

Every DLC character was used in the top 32 with the exception of Base Vegeta, Jiren, and Android 17.
