'Too bad you...will die' visual history of Sindel shows us how the scream queen has evolved over the last 24 years

It was 24 years ago in 1995 that we caught our first glimpse of Sindel, the Edenian queen with looks and a voice that could kill... as in she literally killed people with her hair and her scream.

Since the Mortal Kombat fanbase is currently awaiting Shao Kahn's reluctant bride as a new DLC character in Mortal Kombat 11, we thought we'd help pass the time with a visual history gallery so we can see how she's evolved since Mortal Kombat 3.

Kitana's mom has always been something of a tragic character in that she's really a good guy that's constantly being pulled over to do the bad guys' biddings. Despite not being the most regularly appearing fighter in the franchise, her contributions to the storylines are often integral as they pertain to Shao Kahn's means of power and dominion.

Sindel would appear in MK3, Ultimate MK3, and MK Trilogy widely unchanged, and so we've lumped her appearances in those games all together. Though she was nowhere to be found in Deadly Alliance, she did appear in both Deception and Armageddon with the same character model.

Fans were very happy to see her back in Mortal Kombat 2011, (commonly referred to as MK9) but quite frustrated to find that she'd be a non-playable character in Mortal Kombat X. The corrupted queen appeared prominently in the game's story, and even had a fully working character model that players would face off against.

We'd be remiss if we didn't bring up perhaps the most referenced Sindel appearance as she was featured in the 1997 Mortal Kombat Annihilation film. Played by Musetta Vander, Sindel's "Too bad you... will die" line is often quoted as one of the worst lines in cinema history... thus keeping in step with the tragedy theme her story is so often tied to.

You'll also see what she looked like as portrayed by Beatrice King in the Mortal Kombat Legacy web series from 2011. Check out the full visual history below and let us know which Sindel is your favorite in the comments.
