Ed Boon releases new Nightwolf character render for Mortal Kombat 11

We've known for some time now that Nightwolf would be among the DLC characters coming to Mortal Kombat 11's first Kombat Pack though NetherRealm Studios had not shown off what the spiritual fighter will look like in-game... until now apparently.

Ed Boon has released what appears to be a character render showing off Nightwolf's head and face as he'll likely appear in Mortal Kombat 11 with the caption "Oh, you're sending the WOLF?"

This isn't the first time that we've seen a teaser of Nightwolf from Ed Boon in recent weeks, as the series co-creator previously revealed what appeared to be the fighter's boot and tomahawk.

It's hard to tell given the lighting and side profile, but this version of Nightwolf appears to be younger than his last appearance in 2011's Mortal Kombat which makes sense given the time travel aspect of MK11's story.

From a story standpoint, Nightwolf was one of the many Earthrealm heroes who died taking on Sindel sacrificing himself to stop the onslaught of the resurrected queen. He was then brought back as a revenant by Quan Chi and appeared at multiple points of MKX's story mode, so he'll also very likely have a revenant design to choose from as well like Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kitana and others.

The line about 'sending in the wolf' is a reference to the classic film Pulp Fiction which is uttered by Samuel L. Jackson's character in a scene though we can't rewrite or post said scene here because of how many expletives are used.

Blowing up the brightness on the newly released image gives a better look at Nightwolf's black and red face paint along with his headdress which you can see below.

Speaking of Sindel, Ed Boon also recently released a character render of the queen turned revenant in a similar manner. Neither new character currently has a release date or window set for Mortal Kombat 11, however.
