Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] is the sixth game to have over 1,000 entrants registered for EVO 2019

Earlier today, it was announced that SNK and Athlon Games will be adding $30,000 to Samurai Shodown's EVO pot bonus after the reveal that the title will be SNK's most entered title at EVO. This seems to heavily imply that the number of entrants has surpassed 1,000 considering that King of Fighters 13 had roughly 1,072 entrants at EVO 2012.

It seems yet another game has reached the 1,000 competitor threshold, according to one of the EVO Tournament organizers — Mr. Wizard. The latest title that was able to achieve this was Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st].

As a result, this also means that Unist is the sixth game to have over 1,000 entrants. Based on the leaderboard that was released earlier this month, the other fighters are Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tekken 7, Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition, Samurai Shodown, and Mortal Kombat 11.

This also seems to imply that Dragon Ball FighterZ, Soul Calibur 6, and Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle are the only titles with less than 1,000 entrants so far. Of course, registration for EVO 2019 won't close until July 14, 2019.

As far as we know, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently the only title in which over 2,000 competitors will be going at it. Although Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition is often the most popular game at EVO, Tekken 7 has also managed to surpass it recently.

Considering that registration will be closing soon, we'll very likely be getting final numbers for all main tournaments before August.
