We're rapidly approaching the month of August. What is perhaps the biggest fighting game tournament of every year, EVO, will take place from August 2nd to August 4th.

One of the EVO tournament organizers, Mr. Wizard, is polling the fighting game community about which fighting game should play out last on Sunday — finals day.

The choices provided were BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Tekken 7, Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It's not possible to vote for Mortal Kombat 11, Samurai Shodown, Under Night In-Birth, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Soul Calibur 6.

Mr. Wizard also recently released the latest entrant numbers leaderboard for the nine games. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently in the lead. We also know that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate already has over 2,000 players registered to compete.

Tekken 7 now sits in second place. Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition has been relegated to third as a result. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is at ninth place.

It's possible that one or more of these titles may have announcements to be made regarding future content. The time a game is scheduled to play out its top eight may have an impact on when these announcements are officially made.

We do know that something is cooking as far as Street Fighter 5 is concerned. Apparently the team is confident that this is something that will make fans happy.

Last year, information regarded the next Super Smash Bros. themed Nintendo Direct was revealed at EVO for the first time ever. It's entirely possible that we may get a narrowed scope of when exactly Dragon Quest's Hero will release.
