Power Rangers as a franchise has been going on for more than 25 years with a handful of fighting games already under its belt, and now it appears as though we're about to get a new one on current consoles in the very near future.

A trailer has reportedly leaked online for a game called Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid which is a new fighting game from the developers behind the Legacy Wars mobile game that will be coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC.

Battle for the Grid appears to be a 2D fighter molded in a similar fashion to its predecessor though we get no indication as to how the game will play or its in-game elements. Only three characters are shown off in the trailer with the classic red and green Mighty Morphin' rangers alongside the yellow Super Megaforce ranger, who looks to be possibly an assist or tag-in character.

Jason David Frank, who is best known for playing Tommy Oliver / the original green ranger, makes an appearance towards the end of the trailer holding a Nintendo Switch controller which does lend more credence to this trailer being legitimate.

An allegedly leaked press release was also posted with the trailer that states that nWay, the developers behind Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, has once again teamed up with Hasbro and Lionsgate for the new fighting game that will be released digitally.

If these posts are correct, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will be coming to consoles in April 2019 for $19.99 though the PC release will release at a later time. A 'Digital Collector’s Edition' will be available to pre-order for $39.99 which includes a season pass with additional characters. You can check out the reported trailer and full press release after the jump.
