Is it the big boy's time to shine?

A second season of content for Dragon Ball FighterZ was previously teased by Bandai Namco earlier this week, but we were told to wait until the World Tour Finals at the end of the month to find out about what's coming to the massive fighter in 2019. Apparently we only needed to wait two days to learn more.

Bandai Namco and popular Japanese magazine V-Jump teased that Jiren will be coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ as DLC along with a brand new Dragon Ball RPG title.

The publisher's translation of V-Jump's Tweet says "the warrior from Universe 11 is joining the fight" which refers to the current final anime arc of the Dragon Ball Super containing the strongest fighters from every universe in the Tournament of Power.

Jiren is one of the Pride Troopers from Universe 11 which proved to be among the strongest teams of the arc with other characters like Toppo giving the Z Fighters a run for their money — Goku and his friends are from Universe 7. Though he looks like a beefed up stereotypical grey alien, Jiren's raw power allowed him to deal with other fighters like Hit and even Super Saiyan Blue Goku with relative ease.

Due to his popularity and status as the 'final boss' of the Tournament of Power, Jiren appeared to be an easy pick for a spot on the roster of FighterZ though he did not make it into the first set of DLC characters in 2018. He also ranked the highest on our community poll about the Dragon Ball Super characters we'd most like to see added to the game.

The new RPG title from Bandai Namco is code-named Dragon Ball Game Project Z and will receive its reveal in the March issue of V-Jump coming January 21. We'll likely need to wait until Red Bull Final Summoning though on January 26–27 to learn more about Jiren and Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 2, however.
