Waluigi fans are petitioning for 'Waluigium' element on the Periodic Table just to get a response from Nintendo about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Over 3,000 signatures and counting

Fans of Waluigi must've felt ignored when it was revealed that the character would be returning as an Assist Trophy for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Since then, a meme has developed that suggests that Nintendo hates Waluigi.

Shortly before the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed that polls that supported Waluigi's inclusion as a DLC character were not going to affect Nintendo's plans. "My interpretation is that there will be no fan polls, [and that] no independent poll trying to push Waluigi, as an example, will not influence the decisions that have already been made," Fils-Aime told Kotaku.

It seems that Waluigi fans won't be deterred so easily. They're very determined to get another response from Nintendo. This is being done by by... petitioning to get Waluigi his own element on the Periodic Table?

A fan has created a petition to name Element 119 — which has been given a placeholder name of Ununennium — "Waluigium." As of right now, there are over 3,000 signatures that support this idea.

The petition insists that Waluigi is an "unloved Nintendo character who is loved only by fans." The solution to this problem is to simply give Waluigi his own element on the Periodic Table which will "most likely will create a [response] from Nintendo," probably in regards to his non-playable status in the Super Smash Bros. series.

Something tells me that the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry will probably just see this petition as a joke even if it reaches its 5,000 signature goal.

Given, the chances of this occurring might actually be higher than him becoming a playable fighter in the Super Smash Bros. series. Then again, many suggested that Ridley would be too big up until he was finally announced. Maybe it could happen some day...
