I'm going to start this by clarifying, in case of the highly unlikely event that someone disagrees and loses their mind over it, that this is an opinion list, and will even go as far as to say that I highly disagree with some of these myself (number one on the countdown is actually one of my all time favorites).

With that said, good on 616Entertainment for riding the Mortal Kombat interest wave as fans of the franchise anxiously twiddle their thumbs in anticipation for this coming Tursday's kontent drop.

Fatalities have long been a defining staple of the MK series, and though they're technically unnecessary in terms of game play, they very much add to the dramatic presentation that Mortal Kombat is especially known for.

I tend to see Fatalities as opportunities for creativity more than anything else, sometimes straying away from the concept of "who can be the most brutal and gory" in order to delve into the waters of shock, surprise or even humor for the sake of entertainment.

That said, sometimes the chances NetherRealm Studios developers take see them fall flat on their faces either through a missing of the mark obvious lack of creativity.

As many iconic kills came out of Mortal Kombat 4, there were a handful of incredibly uninspired enders that came across as blatantly lazy in design, and few of those make this list along with some gems from Deadly Alliance-Armageddon era.
