The heavily rumored and hinted at Dead or Alive 6 online beta test is real. This morning, the game's official Twitter account announced that a beta will be taking place for the upcoming title, and apparently it's live right now.

Dead or Alive 6's beta test is set to run from January 11th at 8 a.m. PDT until January 14th at 7:59 a.m. PDT. This preview of the game comes shortly after the official release date of the final product was pushed from February 15th to March 1st, which is a nice surprise for fans who were disappointed by the delay.

It appears as though the beta is only available on PlayStation 4 at this time.

Players who opt in will be able to try out five different characters: Kasumi, Ayane, Hayabusa, Hayate, and newcomer Diego.

This beta test will only feature online ranked mode as its sole play option. Only one stage will be available to select, which is the DOA Colosseum.

You can also access a tutorial at any time from the main menu to learn the ins and outs of the game's combat system.

The Dead or Alive 6 online beta test comes in at a 7.760 GB file size, and you can hop into the PS Store on your console now to download it (here in the US).

Earlier this morning we saw the reveal of two new DLC characters: Nyotengu and Phase 4. We are expecting to see them when the game launches on March 1st.
