Jtails releases his 'most in depth' Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tier list

Jtails is both a content creator and competitor within the Super Smash Bros. series. A week ago, he released his second tier list for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. His first tier list was more like a a series of predictions as it came before the game was even released.

Some might recall that Jtails was one of the first to conclude that Diddy Kong was a top tier candidate soon after Super Smash Bros. 4 was released. Keep in mind that this was during an era where many actually believed that Diddy Kong would be low tier as he only had access to one banana that was only able to cause opponents to trip once.

In Jtails' list, characters are separated into four different categories: S class, top tier, high tier, and middle tier. While it might seem odd that there are no low or bottom tiers, this seems to be intended to emphasize the fact that character power levels are actually somewhat balanced.

Peach, Daisy, Pichu, Young Link, and Fox find themselves in the highest tier possible. Again, the ironic trend of positioning Pichu above Pikachu has continued. Many top players have opinions that mirror this thought process.

Interestingly enough, Inkling and Chrom — who are characters many believed to be the best in the game when it was first released — can be found in the top tier category, which is the second highest. They're joined by Olimar, Palutena, Snake, Lucina, and Wario — all characters who have had a tournament presence in this young meta.

Jtails provided an in depth explanation as to why characters are placed the way that they are. His video is over an hour long. If you don't have time to watch the whole video, feel free to take a peak at the final list below before coming back later with more time.
