Mortal Kombat 11 was announced at The Game Awards back on December 6th, and after the initial trailer action we were promised a further reveal on January 17th.

While we've known the date of the reveal since the announcement, we did not know what specifically it was going to entail. The official Mortal Kombat Twitter responded today to a follower who asked when the community was going to get the next kontent drop with some specifics.

"We'll show you some gameplay, a little story, and maybe give you some character reveals. How does that sound?" Tweeted the MK account.

Thus far we've seen Raiden in his corrupted form take on two versions of Scorpion in Shang Tsung's destroyed courtyard, and a bald headed character standing next to a giant orb. Shao Kahn was also revealed as a playable DLC character that comes as a bonus for pre-ordering. We actually just got our second good look at him yesterday.

In addition to that, we did hear about Liu Kang and Sub-Zero unofficially thanks to a Best-Buy website description for the game, so we wouldn't be too surprised to see those two come the 17th.
