Super Smash Bros. Ultimate data mine may provide hints to the DLC characters' identities by way of code names

We know that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be receiving at least six DLC characters now that it's launched with Piranha Plant likely coming in February and Persona 5's Joker after that plus four other currently unknown fighters.

It appears, however, that even the Nintendo Switch and Smash Ultimate aren't immune to data miners poking around the game's files who have reportedly found entries that hint to at least one new character we don't know.

Data miner and game modder Jam1garner recently shared on Twitter findings of three character code names in Smash Ultimate's files that appear to refer to the first three DLC fighters.

The names Jack, Brave and Packu are all reportedly referenced multiple times in the data that reveals aspects of their play like run speed, size, jump abilities and more.

Packu likely refers to Piranha Plant due to being very close to its Japanese name of Packun Flower while Jack could be the code name for Joker as a pun on playing card names or possibly be tied to the Persona / Shin Megami Tensei mascot Jack Frost.

The name Brave might lead some to believe that the character may be tied to a game like Bravely Default or Brave Fencer Musashi, but many around the internet believe that the name points to a Dragon Quest representative.

In Dragon Quest games, the Japanese name of the main Hero class is 'Yuusha' which directly translates to 'brave' in English apparently lending further credence to other recent rumors of the series' inclusion in Smash Ultimate as another Square Enix rep along with Cloud.

None of this has been officially confirmed by Nintendo and is still speculative at this time, so this information should still be taken with a grain of salt. You can check out the alleged run speeds and weights of the three code named characters below.
