Kage remained very popular in January but was still the worst performing character according Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition's online stats

The first month of 2019 has ended. That means that Capcom has released the monthly online stats for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition.

We learned last time that Kage was the worst performing character in Street Fighter 5 despite being the second most popular for the month of December. This certainly makes sense considering that he was only just released after the conclusion of the Capcom Cup for 2018.

Normally, newly released fighters would become significantly less popular after the first month. It seems that Kage was the third most chosen fighter for the month of January. Of course, Ryu and Akuma were the top Shotos.

Unfortunately, Kage retained his title as the worst in the game as his match ups were the poorest. He appears to be doing particularly bad against Urien who has continued to hold the greatest win rate for Season 4 instead of M. Bison.

Most top competitors believe that Kage has a poor neutral. Notably, his punishes seem to be very strong.

Dhalsim, Vega, and Blanka can also be spotted near the top when it comes to win rates. Meanwhile, the performance for Sakura, Cammy, Menat, and Rashid probably leaves a lot to be desired for fans of those combatants.

Of course, bear in mind that using this data on its own may not be sufficient to construct a tier list for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition due to many factors. Still, it's useful information.
