The cast of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the stars of Nickelodeon's cartoon shows each have their own major fan bases and very high levels of popularity. From the Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda crew to Ren and Stimpy and the Rugrats, these two companies house some of the most widely recognized characters in entertainment.

So what happens when you bring Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Nickelodeon together? Apparently, you get this awesome art piece that sees popular Nickelodeon characters filling the shoes of Smash Ultimate's playable roster.

This artwork comes from the mind of SpongeBob SquarePants Storyboard Artist, Kurt Snyder, with help from SpongeBob Storyboard Revisionist, Tim Prendergast.

In this poster, we see interpretations of several main Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters — such as Mario, Bowser, Mega Man, Fox, Cloud, and more — but with Nickelodeon characters in their stead. Each character looks to have been selected to most closely represent the fighter they have become, like Michelangelo becoming Bowser, CatDog as the Ice Climbers, etc.

You'll likely spot a lot of familiar Nickelodeon faces among the bunch, but some of the stand outs to me were Ren from Ren and Stimpy as Mewtwo, The Angry Beavers' Norbert as Sonic the Hedgehog, and Rocko's Modern Life's Heffer as Kirby villain King Dedede.

According to Snyder, this art piece is actually the poster for a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament being held by Nickelodeon.
