You've likely seen or heard about the fires currently burning in the Amazon rainforest as they've been making quite a few headlines in recent days, and a California fighting game community member has started a GoFundMe campaign to try to help out.

Sierra Danielle hails from Fresno and is trying to raise funds to send to Amazon Watch, an entity that focuses on helping the preservation of the Amazon's ecological systems.

"FGC, let's lend our support to the Amazon rainforest!" she starts. "If anyone is not aware, the Amazon rainforest is burning at a rapid rate. It is the largest rainforest in the world. Not only will it affect global climate change, but it is destroying homes for wildlife, displacing the indigenous communities, and of course, destroying the forest which produces oxygen for our planet.

"The air they breathe will not be the same. We have lost millions of animals. It is devastating and I am hoping to provide as much support as possible. As a community, I know we can make a huge impact. We are more than just passionate gamers. We are a family of doers."

Danielle has also entertained the idea of a donation-based tournament of some sorts, but whatever the means, the main priority is to get a few extra funds out to those who can help quell flames and minimize destruction in Southern America's jungles.
