Should GT Goku be banned from Dragon Ball FighterZ tournaments? SonicFox thinks so, but not everyone agrees

They say OP genes skip a generation...

Last year the Dragon Ball FighterZ community was feeling the pain of Bardock (aka Grandpa Goku) being a bit too strong for everyone's liking, but 2019 appears to be the year of GT Goku (aka Kid Goku) and the problems he poses might be even worse.

FOX|SonicFox, one of the strongest DBFZ players on the planet, has come forward with an opinion that the new character is just too good. Since we don't expect that Bandai Namco will be hitting this title with a balance update anytime soon, Fox proposes that the best course of action is to ban GT Goku from tournament play for the time being.

"As much as I love playing and using GT Goku, I also think he should be banned in DBFZ!" he stated in a tweet on Tuesday. He followed this statement up with several more, one of which clarified that he's very much interested in getting a communal discussion on the topic started before anything else.

GT Goku dropped back in May of this year and quickly saw some raised eyebrows amongst FighterZ players as he appeared to have some massive potential even in his earliest days.

Though small, the character packs a walloping punch with some of the best damage output in the game. His level three Spirit Bomb Super allows for extremely efficient follow-up pressure as the opponent recovers, and he has more touch of death combos than perhaps anyone else on the roster.

Below you'll find SonicFox's comments as well as some responses by NRG|HookGangGod, who admits the character is very strong but isn't exactly sold on the idea that he should be banned:

Here's a video from JMCrofts considering GT Goku's exceptional strength. This came out just one week after the character was released, so this fell much more into the realm of early speculation:

Hook actually produced a video response and discussion about Fox's comments about GTG. Though he begins it by stating that he doesn't think the character should be banned, he does feel GTG needs some heavy nerfs as soon as possible. The talk has some NSFW language, but if that doesn't bother you then you can view it right here:

What do you think about GTG at this point in time? Is he indeed playing a whole other game than everyone else in FighterZ like Fox says? Sound off in the comments to let us know if you think he's a problem, and, if so, how you'd fix it.
