When your sword breaks, why not just turn it into a drill? - Official Darli Dagger gameplay trailer released for Samurai Shodown

Giga... Drill... Breaker?

Darli Dagger was recently announced as one of the three newcomers joining the roster of the Samurai Shodown reboot, and the lady pirate has already caught the attention of the fighting game community thanks to her unique looks that stand out quite a bit compared to the rest of the cast.

Now that the full roster has been revealed, SNK is shifting gears to releasing individual gameplay trailers for everyone starting with Nakoruru, and it looks like GameSpot had the honors to grab Darli's video showing her quite literally ripping, tearing and drilling through her opponents.

The islander's signature new saw blade sword looks to be one of the most unique weapons in the franchise with satisfying meaty hits that get stuck in the enemy that Darli must then tear out — with a neat looking visual effect.

On top of that, it appears as though her sword can actually break considering it's shown shattering after pulling Charlotte in leaving the pirate with just the wooden handle. Darli will be far from defenseless when that occurs, however, since she can somehow attach different heads to said handle.

The gameplay trailer reveals that there's an alternate drill top she can use that will actually change up her move set since we see her grab and stab through Galford. How much her attacks will differ depending on the weapon / tool type is still not known.

Samurai Shodown is set to release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 27 where Darli Dagger will take her place among other fighters like the classic Haohmaru plus newbies Wu-Ruixiang and Yashamaru Kurama. You can take a look at the nearly 40-second trailer below.
