Kid Goku launches as DLC for Dragon Ball FighterZ in May... and yes he can use Super Saiyan 4

Still no Great Apes though...

We've known for quite a while that Kid Goku as he appeared in Dragon Ball GT will be the next DLC character to launch for Dragon Ball FighterZ though we were kept in the dark about his release date until now.

The latest issue of V-Jump magazine in Japan features some new information about the smallest version of Son Goku to join the game's roster including a planned May release window and his ability to tap into his Super Saiyan 4 transformation.

Super Saiyan 4 will apparently not be an install-like super state like Golden Frieza like some had hoped, and it will instead seemingly be relegated to a variation of his Meteor Attack. When his teammate(s) are knocked out, Kid Goku's Dragon Fist Super will change from its standard rush attack to the overpowered Super Saiyan 4 where he'll perform the iconic punch through with the golden dragon used to defeat Omega Shenron.

This is not the first time Bandai Namco has experimented with powering up super attacks in DBFZ considering Base Form Goku also receives additional follow ups during his Kaioken depending on how many of his allies are down — seems like they want people to put Goku as an anchor.

Three new commentator voice packs will also be coming alongside Kid Goku for Android 17, Trunks and Zamasu for one, Beerus and Whis for another and Android 21 for the last. Springtime-themed Z Capsules are on the way as well as they previously did for Halloween and Winter.

The new scans of Kid Goku and his hairy Saiyan transformations have not surfaced online as of yet, but we'll likely be receiving a gameplay trailer for the mixture of GT and classic Dragon Ball moves in the very near future.
