Mortal Kombat 11 is ready for launch next Tuesday, and along with NetherRealm Studios' next installment in the legendary Mortal Kombat franchise we'll be seeing a major tournament circuit for the game this year.

The Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition was announced this morning and will be a year-long circuit that will culminate in 16 of the world's best players battling it out at the finale.

The Pro Kompetition will be run in the form of nine live events taking place across North America, Latin America and Europe. There will also be online events during the competitive year, and these initial events will see a prize pool of $155,000 overall and a chance for players to earn one of 12 spots in the "Final Kombat" finale — which is slated for March 2020 in Chicago.

To round out the 16-player bracket at Final Kombat, the remaining four combatants manifest as the winners of Canada’s Northern Arena, Latin America’s Liga Latina and the Interkontinental Kombat which takes place across Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Australia. The fourth is set to be decided with a last chance qualifier event taking place the day before the finale in the United States.

The first event on North America’s Pro Kompetition will be Combo Breaker 2019, taking place on May 24-26 in Chicago, Illinois.

At the finale, those top 16 players will battle it out for a cut of another $100,000. Final Kombat and the other events on this tour will be streamed live over on NetherRealm's Twitch channel.
