So graceful, so beautiful, so deadly

It doesn't get much better than when a fighting game fan gets to help create one of their favorite characters of all time, and that's what we have here with Kitana and NetherRealm Studios developer Steve "16-bit" Brownback in Mortal Kombat 11.

During today's Kombat Kast Steve was able to show off the Edenian princess, and we've put together a series of clips for an expedited breakdown so you can get a feel for how she plays here in here latest iteration.

One of the very first things Steve points out is the fact that Kitana's normals have been completely redone, mainly because of the fact that she now is almost always holding onto her signature fans.

He also notes that while she does retain a few of her classic MK moves such as the fan toss and levitate, she also is bringing five or six brand new techniques to keep things fresh.

One of the first things we noticed upon her reveal is how she seems to be perhaps the most beautifully designed character in the game thus far (which is really saying something). We get to see her in both regular and revenant forms, and can only imagine where things will go with custom costumes.

Kitana is especially graceful in her movement, making for some almost memorizing strings of attacks. The catch with these is that they're fairly difficult to hit confirm, so players will need to be sure they're going to land or risk being punished:

Fan Toss and Fan Lift are back, but they come with a new throat slit technique that can result in a Crushing Blow:

In the air, Kitana cal zip straight at her foe or flutter to keep things mixed up:

Projectile wars are not advised against her as she can absorb fireballs and get a buff for a short time to all of her fan attacks:

Edenian Razors is a technique that sees her fans fly all around her, making strings safe and enabling new corner combos:

Finally we see Kitana pull out the trademark sai that her sister, Mileena, usually uses. She can toss it up in the air and then has a few options from that point as it comes down to inflict damage:
