We do have to admit that we were scratching our beards just a bit while contemplating the earlier news that Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is offering a Season Pass that's nearly as expensive as the game itself, but the deal just became significantly sweeter.

Battle for the Grid's Twitter page has revealed that no less than three brand new characters will be released as DLC in a future update, and they won't cost you a cent to obtain.

Udonna, Dragon Armor Trini, and Cenezoic Blue Ranger will be released as part of the free "Update 1," of which we have no official release date for yet. When it does happen, this will effectively bring the game's roster up from nine to a total of 12 available avatars.

These three new fighters are not to be confused with the three promised Season One DLC characters, which will be part of the aforementioned $14.99 Season Pass.

The 3v3-formatted Battle for the Grid launched on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch back on March 26th, and hit PlayStation 4 consoles just yesterday on April 2nd.

You can see the full string of tweets as developers disseminate and clarify the specifics for this exciting announcement in the first image below. The second is a large presentation of the graphic depicting all three newcomers:
