Dragon Ball FighterZ sees the release of Android 17 and Cooler today. The two newest DLC characters are available now on PlayStation 4 in North America.

Android 17 and Cooler round out the first wave of DLC fighters added to Dragon Ball FighterZ. There are a total of eight additional characters in the game: Broly, Bardock, Fused Zamasu, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegito, Base Form Goku, Base Form Vegeta, and now Cooler and Android 17.

Each character individually will run you $4.99 USD. You can also opt to pick up the Dragon Ball FighterZ season pass — or FighterZ Pass, as it's called — for $34.99 USD, which will give you access to all eight of the DLC characters immediately.

For those who already own the season pass, you might notice that the characters are not automatically unlocked in-game when they are officially released. Because of this, the process for accessing the characters is very similar to those who are purchasing individually.

The first thing you'll want to do is head into the PS Store and hit the search feature at the top of the page. Simply type in the name of the character you're searching for — in this case typing "Android 17" or "Cooler" will net you the results you need — and click on their icon when they appear in the search results.

Season pass holders will see a small "Download" icon beneath the character's portrait, which you'll need to select in order to get the new fighter into your game. Those buying individually should see the price in place of "Download," so you'll have to go through the standard PS Store purchase process from there to get your character.

If you're already at a character select screen in Dragon Ball FighterZ when you decide to head out and download Android 17 and Cooler, you'll have to back out of said screen and go back into whichever mode you were in for the characters to unlock. Once you're all done with the process, you'll be able to jump into battle with Dragon Ball FighterZ's newest combatants.

Learning new characters in a fighting game can be daunting, so be sure to get a jump start by heading over to our Android 17 move list and Cooler move list to see how each of these new Dragon Ball FighterZ characters' attacks are performed and for quick reference.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC now. The game will be released on Nintendo Switch tomorrow, September 28th, 2018.
