Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans should expect fewer character announcements moving forward according to Director, Masahiro Sakurai

'We've been firing the trigger a bit too quickly, so we're going to live a bit more sparingly from now on'

Many would have been happy with the fact that the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will include every character that's ever been on a Super Smash Bros. roster, but developers didn't stop there.

Players have been nothing short of ecstatic as Nintendo has revealed newcomers like King K. Rool of Donkey Kong Country, Simon Belmont of Castlevania, Ridley from Metroid, Isabelle from Animal Crossing and a few others.

We're not certain who is still to be revealed for Ultimate, but if we had to guess we'd probably go with Street Fighter's Ken Masters thanks to some rumors floating about the web.

While we've seen a combination of eight total new characters and echo fighters since Ultimate's initial reveal a few months ago, the game's Director, Masahiro Sakurai, warns not to expect as many from here until the game's launch in December.

He explained in more detail in his weekly Famitsu column, shared by Ryokutya2089.

"We showed off Isabelle in the latest Nintendo Direct..." he told Famitsu. "But it's a mistake to think that we'll keep pushing out new challengers until the release of the game at this rate. We've been firing the trigger a bit too quickly, so we're going to live a bit more sparingly from now on."

Regardless of how many more reveals we get for SSBU, you'll find all of them here on EventHubs. Chime into the comments to let us know who you're hoping to see join the game's roster.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is slated to drop on December 7th of this year, which is 10 weeks and one day away for those not keeping track.
