Today, the Tokyo Game Show 2018 premier event brought a lot of hype to the masses, and you can find the results for it here.

After the prize ceremony, though, series producer Yoshinori Ono stepped up on stage with an announcement ready.

This announcement turned out to be the long-awaited arcade version of the now more aptly named Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition.

While this mostly affects the Japanese scene, it's huge news for any players who still have arcades available locally.

It was stated that location tests will be held for this version on the weekend of October 5th to October 7th in five locations — Taito Station Shinjuku South, Plaza Capcom Kichijouji, Nagoya Leisure Land, Sega Namba Avion Osaka and Round One Fukuoka.

The arcade version will be based on the current console version, meaning it will have all the current cast of characters available in it, and will likely update along with the console version as more content is added.

There will also be a USB outlet attached to each arcade cabinet so that players can plug in their own controllers, which will undoubtedly make pad players very happy.
