Lars is looking MUCH stronger in Tekken 7 Season 2 — new wall bounce lets him take 70% of your health with a single punish

Tekken 7 Season 2 is now officially in the hands of the masses, and much like with any update to a competitive fighting title, the FGC has wasted no time jumping into the lab to figure out what these balance changes actually hold.

One character who wasn't considered to be all that great pre-patch seems to have improved greatly in Season 2. Lars Alexandersson now has some new, powerful tools at his disposal.

Tekken 7 EVO 2018 champion Fursan|LowHigh was practicing the new and improved Lars on stream last night and discovered a devastating combo using the game's new wall bounce mechanic that allows characters to extend their combos in fresh ways.

This sequence appears to take roughly 70% of the opponent's health, and what makes it even stronger is the fact that it begins with an attack that has 12 frames of start up, meaning it can be used to punish a lot of moves — generally, the fastest attacks in Tekken 7 are 10 frames.

For further context, LowHigh released a final tier list for Tekken 7 right before the patch dropped. On it, he placed Lars among the five lowest ranked characters in the game.

Another clip from USSR_TEKKEN_SNK features a 100% Lars combo that can be performed on Geese Howard's stage. In order to net the full 100% damage here, Lars will have to have Rage activated (be at very low health), and he must use the walls of the stage, meaning none can be broken beforehand.

It's probably not the most practical combo, but it is definitely possible in a real match under the right circumstances.
