Nintendo has announced that a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate focused Direct will air on November 1st. It will be hosted by none other than Masahiro Sakurai himself.

It's scheduled to play at 7:00 a.m. PDT / 10:00 a.m. EDT. This Smash Direct will last for approximately 40 minutes.

Afterwards, the Direct will be followed up with a post-show Nintendo Treehouse: Live presentation. We'll likely get a glimpse at the gameplay of characters that were not present in the E3 demo.

Not only this, but gameplay for Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, Yoshi's Crafted World, and Diablo III: Eternal Edition will also be shown at the Treehouse presentation.

More than likely, there will probably be a new character announcement or two. We'll also get more information about that mysterious mode that is rumored to be called "Spirits."

It's been mentioned that this is the "final" Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct "before the game's release." There's an implication that there may be Nintendo Directs that focus on the game post-launch.

It was only back in March 2018 that we learned that a new Super Smash Bros. title was being developed for the Nintendo Switch. Splatoon's Inkling was revealed as the first newcomer.

We'd then have to wait until E3 2018 — June 12th — before getting more information. Then it was revealed that every character from previous Smash Bros. entries, Daisy, and Ridley would be playable.

On August 8th, we ended up getting a Smash focused Nintendo Direct that revealed Simon Belmont, Richter Belmont, Chrom, Dark Samus, and King K. Rool. Many of the game's new features were also revealed while a mysterious new mode was teased.

September 13th brought us another Nintendo Direct but it wasn't only focused on Super Smash Bros. As a result, we only had the reveal of Isabelle as a unique fighter.

These Smash focused Directs have been crammed with a bunch of information so it stands to reason that this Direct will be similar. Remember that we'll be learning about every playable character before the game's launch on December 7, 2018.
