If you're wondering who that new voice in Street Fighter 5's store is, it's actually Dan Hibiki's younger sister

Capcom released a fairly substantial new update for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition last week which included new Darkstalkers and Halloween costumes, the new Dojo Mode and even a new shopkeeper.

This new shopkeeper for SF5's online shop has fully voice-acted lines of dialogue to show you what's new and recommended for players, and she actually made her first appearance in a completely different Capcom Fighting game.

The new voice in all of our games is none other than Yuriko Hibiki who happens to be Dan's younger sister and is another reference to / parody of SNK's Art of Fighting series though her inclusion in the canon was questionable before.

Yuriko first appeared in Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter in Dan's ending where she stops her brother before he finishes off Cyber Akuma seeming to imply that he is actually their father — events that are so wrong in the canon for many, many reasons.

She also appears to be a direct reference to Yuri Sakazaki from the Art of Fighting series which makes sense given that Dan was created as a parody to Yuri's brother, Ryo, who has a similar character ending with Mr. Karate.

Yuriko is not a fighter and prefers business to violence, so it only makes sense that she'd appear to sell us the latest wares available in the game. You can check out her origins in the Arcade Mode endings in the videos after the jump.
