When Kill la Kill firsts released from Studio Trigger in 2013, fans thought the anime's over-the-top action and antics would make for a great fighting game, and now it's finally materialized as Kill la Kill the Game: IF almost five years later.

Tokyo Game Show recently wrapped up after giving us plenty of new announcements and footage for fighting games including Kill la Kill which was shown off more in-depth at the trade show plus announced new characters for the arena fighter.

Ira Gamagori and Uzu Sanageyama were announced to be joining IF's roster as playable characters with almost 20 minutes of new match footage being shown for the new fighters and the previously revealed Ryuko and Satsuki.

Both new characters are using their activated Goku Uniforms from their time as members of Satsuki's Elite Four meaning they have a larger and more mechanized appearance than their current counterparts' more skimpy attire. The art and graphical style overall appears to draw from ArcSys' other recent titles' blend of 3D and 2D looking cel-shading like Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Xrd.

Along with showing off the arena based combat of the game, this demo also gives us a special look at Kill la Kill the Game's rock-paper-scissors clash system where characters will banter at each other similarly to the source material, and the winner will receive a buff. The dialogue options are currently. Curse which raises your health, taunt which increases your damage and provoke which raises your SP gauge.

Kill la Kill the Game: IF is scheduled to release next year as a collaboration between Arc System Works, A+ Games and Studio Trigger with its own original story focusing on Satsuki as the main character instead of Ryuko. You can take a look at a match between Satsuki and Gamagori in the clip below — complete with self-flagellation and the full gameplay session after the jump.
