'The current competitive meta is Android 16 and Bardock' - Rooflemonger breaks down where the Dragon Ball FighterZ scene sits right now

Dragon Ball FighterZ has been on the market for almost 10 months already, and it's a game that's seen its meta / most popular characters shift quite often depending on what top players are doing and what new tech has been recently discovered. We've gone from Hit, Android 16 and Adult Gohan being seemingly the strongest around to Cell and Vegeta taking over until where we're at now.

Fighting game tech monster Rooflemonger recently released a video about the current state of the meta in Dragon Ball FighterZ citing the past three majors of SEA Major 2018, East Coast Throwdown and Canada Cup to help make his case.

As the title to this article suggests, he believes that Android 16 and Bardock are essentially the meta because of how strong they are though he also feels that the game is currently in a better place than it was a couple of months ago since more characters are seeing play overall.

Android 16 has good damage, good neutral control, can be placed in any role, has great team synergy with most of the cast and a good assist to top it off. Bardock, on the other hand, has probably the most oppressive rushdown in the game currently, and his Level three Revenger Assault leaves the defender in a mix up even after getting hit by the Super.

Rooflemonger also notes how most top players have seemingly dropped Perfect Cell after the August balance patch, and character diversity has gone up since then with more players selecting a variety of characters like Tien seeing more use though Super Saiyan Vegeta still remains popular.

At least half of the players at SEAM chose Android 16 and / or Bardock for their teams while the other two majors boasted similar statistics for the pair, yet Rooflemonger does not feel these fighters are unstoppable beasts by any means. You can check out his full video after the jump to see his full thoughts on Dragon Ball FighterZ's current meta and which characters he feels are a bit underrated right now.
