2B's second Critical Edge is a self-destruct explosion that causes her to lose her skirt in Soul Calibur 6 to stay true to the android's Nier roots

Nier: Automata's 2B was recently announced as Soul Calibur 6's next DLC character, and now we have an even better chance to see what the futuristic android can do in this post-middle ages fighting game.

Dengeki Online held a live stream earlier today featuring Soul Calibur Producer Motohiro Okubo and other members of Bandai Namco staff where they showed off more of 2B's gameplay along with her character creator items, stage and more details.

2B actually has all of her weapon types from Nier at her disposal with the ability to use light swords, heavy swords, a spear, fist weapons and her Pod in battle. She summons weaponry to her hands from her back or elsewhere similar to Azwel or Noctis in Tekken 7, and they'll disappear after use. Her attacks appear fast, fluid and multi-hitting, but we don't really get to see how punishable they actually are.

Unlike almost every other fighter in the game, 2B actually gains a second Critical Edge while she is low on health where the android will use her Pod's Gravity program to hold the enemy in place after striking them. The YorHa unit then kneels in front of them as her self destruct timer pops up until she explodes.

She won't actually be KO'd by the blast though she'll be left with minimal life, so it should probably only be used if the player knows it will finish the round. The self-destruct will also leave 2B without her skirt for the following rounds — it'll also remove the dress from an enemy 2B as well — as a reference to when it is used in Nier: Automata.

9S, 2B's partner through most of Nier:Automata, can be seen standing on a distant building on her city ruins stage while machines will watch the fight from the windows next to the players. The red girls from Automata will also appear behind characters before the match / round begins and can be seen floating around the stage.

While 2B looks quite polished as a fighter, Okubo and his team have still not announced a release date for the Soul Calibur 6's second guest character outside of saying she's coming soon. You can take a look at the full stream archive from Dengeki Online below where the initial look at 2B and her customization options can be seen beginning around the 16-minute mark, and her gameplay showcase begins around 40 minutes in.

Nier's director, Yoko Taro, does not appear to be present for the stream, but his signature Emil mask is at the table. 2B's gameplay is also shown off in an actual match by a custom character made to look like Taro against another that is supposed to represent Okubo around the 57-minute mark.
