Have you ever wondered what Dragon Ball Z would look like if it were released in the form of a pulp magazine series from the early 20th century? I hadn't previously, but I now see the error of my ways!

Freelance illustrator Astor Alexander puts together art pieces in the style of said magazines featuring popular characters from video games, comic books, and movies.

This time, we're looking over Alexander's amazing work for Dragon Ball Z. Included here are art pieces depicting popular sagas and characters from the beloved series in the pulp-style.

You'll see Trunks, Android 17, Android 18, Dr. Gero, and Cell here, as well as Bardock, Frieza, and other characters from "Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku." Naturally, each character is depicted in a more realistic manner than we're used to, and there are little touches that fit the era such as Trunks holding a pistol and a retro Sci-Fi-looking spaceship.

Alexander has even more excellent art pieces to check out on his website, so if you want to see characters from series such as The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and even DC Comics, be sure to hit the above link.
