I've never seen Street Fighter 5 Ryu stop so many Cammy dive kicks in one round

BobbySyoryuken says "NO!" to dive kicks

Despite being the poster child for Street Fighter 5 and the series in general, we just don't see Ryu all that much in the latest numbered title. For the past couple of seasons, the Hadoken-chucking Shoto hasn't been quite as strong as other characters in the game, leading to minimal representation at higher levels of play.

It's because of this that the following clip is that much sweeter.

BobbySyoryuken shared a sequence on Twitter in which they were matched up with a Cammy player online. As one would expect Cammy to do, several attempts were made to close the distance between her and Ryu, much of the time using her dive kick.

The Ryu player had none of it, though, as they went on to demonstrate just exceptional anti-air capabilities. Utilizing pretty much every anti-air tool Ryu has in Street Fighter 5 -- and seemingly making a couple up as they went along -- every single Cammy dive kick was stopped in this round.

Street Fighter 5 is a game that is heavily centered around rush down and offensive play. There is some zoning involved, but due to the nature of this game and how damage can quickly get tacked on, it feels like we don't get to see Ryu in his natural zoning/spacing element that often these days.

This clip gives us good, old-fashioned Ryu stopping jump ins with Dragon Punches and controlling space with fireballs and normals. Enjoy the awesomeness that is BobbySyoryuken's killer Ryu sequence.
