In celebration of the Guilty Gear series' 20th anniversary, Arc System Works has announced that the franchise's first title will be coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.

During a live stream earlier today, the company unveiled the Guilty Gear port. You can see the archive here.

As Siliconera points out, the game first launched in Japan on May 14th, 1998 -- making today the 20th anniversary. The original roster consisted of Sol Badguy, Ky, Axl, Chipp, Faust, Kliff, May, Millia, Potemkin, and Zato-1. Baiken, Justice and Testament were also available as unlockable characters.

This initial Guilty Gear title is set in a world ravaged by a war between mankind and bio-organic weapons called Gears. Ten warriors enter a tournament in order to stop the resurrection of the Gears' fearsome leader.

Being that this is a port, we will like see Guilty Gear come equipped with an Arcade Mode, Versus, and Training Mode -- much like the original did.

Arc System Works has not yet revealed a release date for Guilty Gear, but you can currently pick it up as a PSOne Classic on PlayStation 3.
