Mortal Kombat 11 inbound? Series co-creator Ed Boon potentially hinting at something 'kool' for 2018

E3 2018 is only a few weeks away, you know...

We are rapidly coming up on E3 2018 and fans of NetherRealm Studios are expecting / hoping for a big Mortal Kombat 11 reveal.

It's about that time for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, and company to return to battle with the gory, brutal kombat the franchise is known for.

As he is known to do, Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon dropped a not so subtle hint on Twitter yesterday in response to a follower's comment. Twitter user Isaiah Ross let Boon know that it would be cool to see a Fighter Pack #4 for Injustice 2 in 2018.

Boon had this to say on the matter: "You know what ELSE would be kool.....?" There's only one thing in the fighting game community that takes the letter "C" and replaces it with "K" -- it's Mortal Kombat.

Naturally, this isn't a concrete announcement and could simply be the Mortal Kombat representative having a little fun with social media. However, when Ed Boon starts hinting at things -- especially around E3 time -- it's always good to keep an eye out.

As we discussed in a previous article, NetherRealm Studios' general schedule of announcing and releasing both the Injustice series and Mortal Kombat in recent years gives us an inkling that we'll be seeing Mortal Kombat 11 announced at E3 this year.

With Injustice 2 being all wrapped up with its DLC releases (as far as we know), Mortal Kombat could very well be back in the spotlight soon.

E3 2018 kicks off on June 12th, so it won't be long before we know if Mortal Kombat 11 is indeed real.
